He left out almost half the song WTF
Nobody sang the chorus with him.. that sucks.. i would've belted that shit out like a fukn LEGEND
GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY, THIS COMMUNITY AND OUR SOLDIERS! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRAFICES!
i would have joined!
This young man has a great voice, especially for middle school. I hope he continued singing in high school and beyond.
Damn! He was spectacular. Aaron, you did those vets proud. (and Billy Joel). You could see the emotion on those guy's faces and he so deserved that standing ovation.
Billy Joel once said “I didn’t write this song. I merely repeated what veterans told me”
Beautiful. Thank you!
Beautiful.
My uncles were in nam one delivered supplies to marines in the jungle, the other was a,seabee. My aunt was,an army nurse at a,mash type hospital, my cousin was a green beret. Very good cover of this song. The veterans seemed to like it.
holy shit what a mature voice for a freshman, kid's going places
Great job young man!💪🏻🇺🇸
Thank you! We love you. Jesus Christ is Lord.
Beautiful
That was really fun to watch. All 7 were great. Thanks for posting that one.
That rhythm section is pretty fun!! \
Such an amazing voice. A very brave and respectful act.
What a voice, and amazing tribute to those veterans.
Beautiful Arron.
Absolutely fabulous!!!!❤❤❤
🇺🇸🫡❤️🤍💙
Oh I so loved that canada
Great job kid. Those veterans were reliving as you sang
I was in Vietnam 1969-70 when I was older. Not the average of 18 or so. 22 and like most others came back much older. I have never heard this song but in lisstening it does describe Saigon. I suppose I too look as old as these other vetereans. And, I appreciate hearing the song now. What a voice this young person has. I thank him.
That was such a stupid waste of money, effort, time, and young men’s lives. We got not a damn thing for doing it. When the people are stupid and complacent, our government bathed in our blood while filling their pockets with tax dollars. Wake up America.
Fantastic job Aaron!!!
That young man is blessed with an incredible voice, a beautiful heart and the ability and willingness to share his gifts. God Bless Him. Thank You Aaron. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Excellentendition and important for children at that age to hear it. Remembering my father..Alfred Nemirow Lieutenant in the air force Korean Conflict.
I don’t believe the lyrics were “they sent us postcards.”
He was 12 or 13 years old and singing in front of an entire elementary school audience and to the veterans. In light of that, yes, he adjusted a few words.
Excellent!! Bless our men and women in uniform. That young man did a fantastic job 👏
I'm a Vietnam combat vet with 173rd . i never heard this song but i sure can tell you it wasn't written by a veteran. One that gets to me is the song 'Sam Stone' from John Prine from the 1970's.
Why would you even bother writing that comment? What the hell does it NOT being written by a veteran have to do with the message it’s telling? I think it’s message was spot on and I appreciate Joel’s recognition and respect for the waste and pain inflicted upon the young men of America and their families for a stupid shit, meaningless, “war.”
it's not necessarily that he is not a vet it's that he uses such hollow words that i've heard reused in other songs. Sounds like he joined the gravy train about ten years too late and is just in it for money. IT'S ALSO TRUE LIKE Mike Tyson said......They all think they can fight till they get hit in the mouth! @@seanmckenna8807
America poking their noses into other countries problems again. Keep your nose out you'll live longer
Great job. I was over their. Made me cry
That helicopter sound is the sound of the workhorse helo the Bell UH-1 Iroquois, lovingly nicknamed the "Huey". I heard this sound every day, all day long on TV News for a dozen years. To this day, I can recognize the Huey...and cry.
Thank you, for your service.
Beautifully done.
Changed the lyric "Playboy" to "postcards".
I honestly think marching band practice is more intense than football practice, and I've done both.
Yeaaaahhhh, if they complete 4 years of marching band they also earn 1 credit of phys ed. lol
We will never forget.... thank you to all of you nam'warriors kia pow mia. Thank you for your service. Take care and god bless.
Amazing job young man! May God bless you for honoring our veterans in such a powerful way.
Holy shit this kid knocked it out of the park.
Wow. I have a hard time even listening to that song. Singing it, in front of veterans no less, would totally break me up. Beautiful.
True story.
As a Veteran and a Billy Joel fan that was amazing
I lost my older brother in Viet Nam, I was in eighth grade, I have never gotten over the loss. This song always makes me cry
My step dad did 2 tours. He was a Navy fighter pilot and then participated in the evaluation of Saigon.
32,000 views and 650 likes. I just can't figure people out. Much respect to the fine young man and the vets there that they were honoring.
Would love to hear this young man sing this song ua-cam.com/video/6BDgIig24OM/v-deo.html
I just loved listening to these boys play, so I played it twice.
The very way those gentlemen bend their heads on the front row...on the very first notes...my God. What kind of hell might they be taken back to ?
Wow
Oh my WORD! Amazing young man. Amazing voice, really did Goodnight Saigon justice!
WOW! That was as touching as any professional presentation--and what a great voice--he didn't miss a lick. Thank you, Aaron, for doing something I don't believe those veterans will easily forget.
